Workforce Center
A centralized, accessible training facility that serves our rural region.
Expanding our reach
To grow our workforce as a whole, we need a Regional Workforce Center (RWC). The RWC will benefit job seekers by providing access to hands-on job training and industry-recognized credentials that lead directly to well-paying jobs.
Students will move from coursework into paid placements, apprenticeships, and employment with local employers - building real experience while earning credentials.
Adult learners will access industry-driven training and certification courses offered at nights and on the weekends to advance their professional opportunities.
In a rural region where workforce shortages affect everything from housing construction to healthcare access, the RWC will serve as the region’s only multi-use, workforce-focused training hub.
By creating clear pathways to economic mobility while reducing the need to leave the region for training, the RWC will help more residents secure stable careers with strong wages, long-term advancement opportunities, and improve the region’s long-term economic resilience.
Creating a space for the entire community
Over the years, Build Pagosa has worked with the high school to invest in teacher development, and improve equipment and facilities for our Career & Technical Education (CTE) Pathways.
Moving forward, we will partner with the Archuleta School District, Pagosa Springs Community Development Corporation, Pueblo Community College, and industry across the region. We will connect people to trainings, internships, and hands-on opportunities  to build a career here, in Pagosa Springs.

The Archuleta School District supports Build Pagosa's fundraising efforts for a new CTE facility.
Donations & Grants
Build Pagosa raises significant donations and grant funding for the proposed workforce center.
The community helps plan
Build Pagosa hosts an interactive community session to help plan the Regional Workforce Center.
Major grants secured
Build Pagosa secures several major grants, including a $1 million congressionally directed federal award.
Land committed
The Archuleta School District commits land to the RWC, strengthening the partnership.
Over $3 million raised
Over $3 million raised or committed toward the Regional Workforce Center. The estimated cost of the project had increased to approximately $6 million.
Renderings drawn
Build Pagosa hires an architecture firm to create renderings for the RWC.
2026
A contractor is appointed
Build Pagosa hires a contractor to begin construction of the RWC.
2027
Ground is broken
Build Pagosa breaks ground on the Regional Workforce Center.
2027
Phase 1 opens
Phase 1 is completed, and the Regional Workforce Center officially opens.
2027+
Phase 2 designed
Phase 2 renderings are designed for the RWC's continued expansion.
USDA presents a $1 million check for the Regional Workforce Center
Federal funding agencies visited Pagosa Springs on July 29, and the USDA presented a ceremonial $1 million check for the new building.
